Product Description

On30 Sugar cane car kits  (pack of 3)

Only £7.50 per car, but not available separately.

10.5mm wheelsets (HO 36") and Kadee 148 couplers not included

KHM "simple" link and pin couplers supplied to make close-coupled rake of cars.

These cane cars are modelled on the Morton Sugar Mill bin cars in Queensland, Australia. They have a tropical flavour that would suit many Narrow Gauge locations.

8ft 4 wheel chassis designed for 10.5mm wheels (36" HO wheelsets are not supplied) - these are the size in Bachmans 18ft cars, also Kadee, Tichy, Atlas and others )

Wheelsets run in brass "top hat" pin point bearings (supplied). Once weighted, this wee chassis is a smooth running beastie!

Solid, laser cut rigid chassis made from 1.6mm premium ply. All parts have alignment features for easy assembly.

The coupler pockets are set up for centre set, medium length Kadee (148 whisker couplings or old number 5s).

KHM link and pin couplers (supplied) will fit using the same hole as the Kadees to give a close coupled rake. Only use Kadees at the end cars to shunt the whole rake (at least thats what i do!)

The chassis frame design leaves a lot of space for adding WEIGHT. My prototypes are 1oz with 3 small lead weights in the chassis. the space is designed for 2 sections of 1/4" brass or steel. low down weight for great running with no need to apply weight in the load.  Weights not supplied in the kit - that would push up shipping a lot.

Body frame work is made from strong 1mm premium laser ply.

The bin's mesh is what tops off this kit. it is fine steel mesh - easily cut into shape with scissors and glued into place with CA (super glue)

They come in 3 packs.....but you never see them in 3s. 12 cane cars and a caboose would make a nice train!
