MOTORISED 5" On30/Oe TURNTABLE KIT!
SINCE COVID THE FACTORY STOPPED MAKING THE MOTOR FOR THIS KIT - I AM TRYING TO FIND A SUITABLE REPLACEMENT
With a bridge length of 5" (127mm) this turntable will accommodate most small O scale narrow gauge locos.
Features:
* pit walls have 2 options: the standard kit has wooden walls.
The resin cast walls are only included if the option is selected.
The cast walls are very easy to modify to suit terrain.
* running rail - assembled with a jig. really easy. Honest !
* bridge wheel housings correctly align the small brass wheels onto the rails.
* bridge is a simple girder design with wooden crossbeams to carry the rails. Looks industrial when weathered.
The 5" turntable drive train has metal gearing and shares the same features of its tried and trusted 9" bigger brother. Can be bought "without motor and gears" for a £10 saving if you have another rotation method in mind.
The turning plate transfers the primary shaft rotation to the bridge and carries power to the rails using sprung plunger contacts - a robust type used by the electronics industry. This is the same proven deisgn used in our HOn3 Durango TT and now sports a milled brass "key"
The turntable features continuous power-routing (not a split ring design). Polarity is changed with a DPDT switch for DC(or DCC) use, or a DCC reversing module can be used to ensure continous operation of a sound chip. wiring instructions and schematics are included in the instructions.
The MK2 kit does not include track rails. There are so many options that it is easier for you to supply and fit your own.
The turntable will require a 5 11/16" (144mm) diameter hole to be cut into the baseboard. (just use the pit base as a template!)
Simple, effective, reliable and affordable.

Finished turntable #1 a while ago, ready to install in layout. This little guy runs like a jeweled watch. Smooth & quiet. Will be ordering #2 when they are back in stock next month.

I ordered the turntable with the stone wall. A wonderful model that works very well. I power it with a 3v adapter. I considered using a voltage control, but with 3v it looks just right. It's not indexed, and that's a good thing. You can roll a small critter or Porter onto it, and send the loco in whatever direction (taking for granted there are rails) you need it.
I build modules for use on my groups' modular layout. There are two Kitwood Hill turntables on the pair I'm running now. The other is the 54' gallows turntable. I like to let them run, even if I'm not going to run trains. It just looks good.

It is wonderful. Easy to follow step by step instructions. Alle parts fit without problems. The motor does its work silently and smooth. This turntable is good value for your money and a enrichment for any lay out.! (MK1 deck type)
