On30 Telegraph shack
A scale 6ft x 6ft hut to put some telegraph/telephone kit inside to keep out the "weather". Box on back for cable connection, couple of small windows and a sturdy door.
Used by engineers and brakemen to connect with dispatchers for route access permission or notifying route clearance. They were common on remote spurs or unmanned junctions.
My latest On30 module has a branch junction. Trains have to stop to request permission to enter the branch, or in the other direction to enter the main line.
So I made this "functional" scenic detail, essentially freelance, but based loosely on one on the D&RGW.
model features:
Laser-cut premium microply with construction tabs for assembly
Peel and stick window assemblies, door and corner trim
hinge and strap detail for rear connection box.
2 "Telegraph" signs.
1.5" x 2" footprint
