On30 2.5" Industrial Turntable

MOTORISED TINY ON30 TURNTABLE KIT!

An Tiny On30 turntable with an industrial look - perfect for turning your 0-4-0s in a very minimal space!

Outer rim diameter is 75mm (3"), deck diamter is 2.5", turntable rail length is 60mm (2 3/8").

On30, On3 are standard  - please select gauge in the options (up to 22mm)

The turntable comes complete with a pre-assembled motor+ gearbox and additional nylon reduction gearing for smooth, slow and realistic operation. The high-torque motor only requires 1.5V so can be run from a single AA battery, but a better solution is to use a variable DC voltage or a DCC loco decoder. It’s very quiet!

Operationally the turntable has sprung plunger contacts for reliable power-routing of the rails - a robust type used by the electronics industry.

The turntable features continuous power-routing intended for DCC (not a split ring design). For DC operation, polarity is changed with a DPDT switch (not included). For DCC, a reversing module (or dual frog juicer) can be used to ensure continuous operation of a sound chip. Wiring instructions and schematics are included in the instructions.

Code 83 or Code 100 options are available.  if you are using Peco's On30 track then you will find installation easier if you order code 100 to match, otherwise we recommend code 83 for a finer look that will work with all modern rolling stock.

Rail is pre-soldered assembly, and aligned into place as part of the design

The deck surface is laser-cut Basswood sheet representing approximately 9inch timbers in 1/48 scale. alternatively just leave it with an open frame. The pit has some clearance (about 1/8") to add debris under the rotating frame.

The turntable body components are laser-cut microply and laserply, and where appropriate, laser-cut double-sided permanent adhesive tape is used to assist in the assembly.

The turntable will require a 5 1/8" (70mm) diameter hole to be cut into the baseboard. The turntable depth is less than 2" (50mm)
