1/48 O scale fruit/veg crates (24 crates, 3 sizes) 

From the Pickle Works kit.

Crates for fruit, veg ...and pickles.

Research revealed there was a standard 24" x 18" footprint widely used across the US, the depth of the crate varied depending of weight and type of fruit/veg. There are 3 crates depths in the kit 8", 12" and 18". 8 of each size.

They are simple laser-cut, fold-up, one-piece stencil card crates. Engraved both sides so planking detail is inside and out. Really easy to make up. As you can see, once painted they come out great!

What to do about the O scale fruit or veg?

Take a trip down the world food aisle of your local supermarket. You will find:-

Mustard seeds (yellow and brown)  -> apples, oranges

Fennel seeds -> bananas, cucumbers

Jeera seeds -> cucumbers

Mung beans - > watermelons

I nuke them in Mircowave for a few seconds (dont cook them) to kill the seeds.
